At one of the sawmills in the Republic of Karelia our specialists upgraded the control system for the log feeding area with a Vector-3D scanner. Upon completion of the work, the following results have been achieved:
A stable and reliable exchange of data and control signals has been established between the sawlog infeed section and the S7-1500 controller, ensuring that the upgraded section operates in synchronization with the rest of the line.
After modernization, the line operates at a higher speed, and the quality of the technological process has improved compared to its initial state.
The installed controller collects and processes data from hundreds of connected sensors and receives feedback from all the controlled equipment. Information regarding errors and malfunctions is displayed on the screen of a personal computer, which is an integral part of the log sorting line.
The client is provided with the technical capability to make modifications to the controller project - necessary for both ongoing operation and future equipment upgrades - such as adjusting time intervals, operating parameters, and the speeds of the actuators within the upgraded section of the line. The working version of the project has also been handed over to the customer.
