Further development of the VECTOR-3D log scanner follows the path of increasing the reliability and accuracy of measurement, in particular, logs with bark. Measuring logs with partially loosened bark is a problem for scanners of any type. Our engineers and programmers have developed a method for measuring such logs. Specially selected laser and cameras, as well as software filter, accurately detect the presence of bark or its absence on the log sections. And the high resolution of the scanner (scanning frequency is 2000 fps) makes it possible to examine the surface more carefully and additionally detect damages, sawing defects, slovens, uncut knots.
